IRVINE, Calif. (Nov. 17, 2023) - University of Massachusetts Global (UMass Global) is proud to announce its latest selection to the prestigious 2023 Military Times "Best for Vets" Colleges List. This recognition reflects UMass Global's commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and support for military-affiliated students.
Military Times ranked UMass Global #14 for primarily online institutions and #19 in the West region. Out of 83 private/nonprofit schools, UMass Global ranked #37. The university's dedication to the success of active duty, reservists, veterans, and their dependents is reflected in these rankings.
UMass Global has a long history of serving those who’ve served. Our origins stem from providing continuing education to Marines serving at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Orange County, California beginning in 1958.
The Military Times "Best for Vets" Colleges List is highly regarded within the veteran and military community. Student success metrics (completion, retention, persistence, GPA) are the most important factors in determining the relative ranking of schools on this year’s list, followed closely by the range of military-specific resources, and the level of financial assistance offered.
UMass Global takes great pride in its ability to offer flexible online programs that cater to the demands of military life and provide pathways for career advancement. We also provide up to 15 credits for military training and leadership. This enables those military students who qualify to earn an MBA or a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership in only seven courses.
During the 2022-23 academic year, UMass Global had 1,870 military-affiliated students in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Over 13% of our students are military affiliated.
