An MA in Educational Leadership and Administration is also offered.
The rankings for veterans’ programs are testament to UMass Global’s ongoing commitment to members of the military and their dependents. UMass Global traces its origins to 1958 when the fledgling university began providing outreach education to Marines stationed at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Orange County, California. Today, over 10 percent of UMass Global students have military ties as active duty, veterans, reservists, or dependents. The university’s Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership competency-based program (a master’s in business program) has one track available only to military members and veterans. It provides transfer credit for military training and coursework.
For its rankings, U.S. News & World Report assessed 1,752 online degree programs. The rankings measure overall academic quality at the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels for these online programs. These rankings differ from the magazine’s brick and mortar Best Colleges rankings because they take into account that students in these online programs are typically not first-time students, in contrast to traditional universities. Many ranking indicators used for their Best Colleges rankings, things like standardized test scores and high school class standing, are not used in the Best Online Program rankings.
Founded in 1958 and accredited by WSCUC, UMass Global provides over 55 online programs tailored for workplace relevance, including undergraduate and graduate degrees, teaching credentials, and certificates. We are committed to adult learners with attentive student support, high graduation rates and alumni satisfaction, and credit opportunities for transfers or prior training.
