Brandman University among nation's Best for Vets

IRVINE, Calif. (July 2, 2021) – Military Times rated Brandman University as the 15^th best in the western United States for veterans in its 2021 Best for Vets: Colleges rankings. Military Times publishes news focused on the armed services and defense policy.

In this year’s edition of the rankings, Brandman ranked in the top 20 among colleges, universities, and vocational schools in the western United States. Brandman also ranked as the country’s 25^th best private nonprofit university in terms of quality for veteran students. Military Times rated Brandman in 150^th place overall among more than 350 ranked schools.

Brandman has had a close relationship with the military, military families, and veterans throughout its existence. The university’s origin story began in 1958, when Chapman College faculty first provided classes to service members at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, then an active installation in Orange County, California.

Decades’ of service to military students have enabled faculty and staff to tailor instructional and support services for working adults in and out of uniform. The university’s pending affiliation with the University of Massachusetts is an undertaking designed to help greater numbers of students in Massachusetts - and throughout the United States – especially military, military families, and veterans reach new levels of academic, personal, and professional achievement. (Sept. 1, 2022 update: This process was completed in September 2021, resulting in the university operating under the guidance of a new governing board as the University of Massachusetts Global).
