Program Overview
The Security+ course provides the basic knowledge needed to plan, implement, and maintain information security in a vendor-neutral format; this includes risk management, host and network security, authentication and access control systems, cryptography, and organizational security. The certification emphasizes hands-on practical skills, ensuring the security professional is better prepared to problem solve a wide variety of issues. The CompTIA Security+ certified professionals are highly qualified in the field of cybersecurity and have the skills for securing network hardware, network services, and network traffic for assigned businesses.
Components of the course include lessons with fact sheets which are the combination of key information around a particular topic with the help of paragraphs, images, charts, etc. Each lesson is accompanied by three levels of virtual labs: Skills, Challenges, and Projects.
The course maps to the CompTIA Security+ SYO-701 certification exam.

- Secure hosts in the enterprise and manage mobile devices.
- Describe application attack techniques, and oversee secure development processes.
- Plan for disaster through business continuity plans, fault tolerant systems and data backups.
- Use monitoring and logging systems to detect security threats, and respond to incidents.
