Biography
Professor Dr. Kimberly Greene chairs the University of Massachusetts Global’s Master of Arts in Education program. She served as an instructional designer throughout UMass Global’s transition to blended learning and then as the founding director for the Center for Instructional Innovation (CII). Her Ed.D. in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University put her at the forefront of the international movement to integrate technology into the educational process in a meaningful fashion, something she continues to research, design, teach, and speak on at conferences around the world, including presentations at Cambridge University for the London International Conference on Education, ISTE Live in Philadelphia, the Ireland International Conference on Education in Dublin, and the Paris Conference on Education. Along with an extensive history of teaching in classrooms, on movie, television, and theatrical sets, along with designing, creating and running multiple corporate trainings, Dr. Greene’s professional history includes work as the director of education for Michael Milken’s Knowledge Kids Network and consulting on educational media for such companies as LeapFrog Toys and Honda of America. In 2004, she facilitated the creation and dissemination of The Afghan Family Health Book, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services project that employed a talking picture book to teach basic survival skills to Afghani women. Dr. Greene advisory board work includes service to such organizations as National Tolerance Week and The Virginia Avenue Project.
Dr. Greene also writes for the non-academic audience; her internationally successful young adult Pop Star series has been translated into several languages and is available for young readers all around the globe. In 2013, Dr. Greene was honored with Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology’s Distinguished Alumnae award. Additionally, Dr. Greene has earned the distinction of being named University Faculty of the Year (2018), Mentor of the Year (2023), and Teacher of the Year for University of Massachusetts Global's School of Education in 2023.
